Medical Cooperation with Montenegro

Belgrade, January 25, 2011. – The MMA’s head, Major General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtic paid the official visit to private health finstitution‘’ General Hospital Meljine’’ in Montenegro. On that occasion, he signed the Protocol on Scientific-Technical Cooperation in the fields of healthcare, education and scientific research. with he director of that institution, Assist. Prof. Dr. Budimir Šegrt.
‘’This act was the result of initiatives and talks with the Republic of Serbia Ministry of Defense, the integral part of which is the Military Medical Academy. We are willing to cooperate and share all our knowledge and experiences with others within the mission of safeguarding and promoting human health and wellbeing’’, General Jevtic said.
He also expressed his hope that several-year-long successful cooperative relationships existing between the MMA and the Montenegrin Health Insurance Fund and Ministry of Health would greatly contribute to the success of this cooperation and implementation of the signed Protocol.
Education of personnel, scientific research and medical cooperation in the fields of urology, emergency medicine, vascular surgery, ophthalmology, radiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, physical medicine and other branches of medicine are only some of the clauses precisely defined by the Agreement.
During his stay in Montenegro, the MMA’s head, Major General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtic met with Mr. Milorad Drljevic, the director of the Drugs and Medical Devices Agency of Montenegro to discuss modalities for future cooperation anticipated in the signed Protocol on Scientific-Technical Cooperation.
